SCD Soldier Network, Inc.

AGASCA is currently an online support group and from that idea we decided to form the SCD Soldier Network, which will stand as a national registry of volunteers dedicated to supporting those who battle SCD. We are still in the formation stages and we are recruiting soldiers in order to provide this national support. Our current services include patient advocacy, employer education and conflict resolution. 

The additional services that we will be providing will come straight from the recommendations of those who would access the services. Patients, their family and friends, along with other volunteers will perform the services that we provide.  Ths SCD Soldier Network would train each volunteer in the area in which they are interested in being a part of.  We will also offer training to organizations who would like to implement any of our services within their programs. We are a group of people who know first hand about the disease that affects so many in the African American population.  The Medical Providers on our team will also serve as Front-line Soldiers and are able to provide a professional perspective to our educational services Programs.

We are working together to support those with Sickle Cell and help provide them with a better quality of life . For years all we have had to represent our disease is our Poster Child, but now Sickle Cell Disease has a Soldier Network that will give it a grown-up voice.
